Welcome to the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Philadelpha Area Chapter

If you live in the Philadelphia Metro area and are looking for friendly women who love golf, welcome to our site! The LPGA Amateur Golf Association Philly Chapter covers Philadelphia, Lower Bucks, Montgomery & Delaware Counties and South Jersey. Our goal is to provide fun opportunities for women who enjoy golf to meet and play with other women who enjoy the same. To meet that goal, we have several leagues in the Philly Metro area that provide weekly golf at some really nice courses, and we also have monthly golf outings during our April - October season. We also offer clinics and other educational events at various locations to help you improve your game.

Here's what one member has to say:
"When people find out I belong to the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association, the first comment I often hear is “WOW, you must be REALLY good at golf!” I’m a fair golfer at best. I will most likely never be a single digit handicap and, although I continue to work on my game, that’s not why I belong to this organization. It’s the friends that I have made and continue to make and the welcoming community that I have found with the LPGA Amateurs that keeps me coming back each year. The LPGA Amateurs is a great organization for all women – regardless of their golfing ability."

To give you a little bit of history, in 2018, the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) aligned with the LPGA to become the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. With Chapters located in over 110 cities in the US and Internationally (and growing), the LPGA Amateur Golf Association is THE women’s golf community providing opportunities for all women to learn to play, play better, have fun and make friends.

Diverse in every way, LPGA Amateurs play golf for a variety of reasons - to learn to play golf, to connect with other women, for health and wellness, to compete, for business, or just plain fun! Whether you’re a beginner taking your first lesson, returning to the game after some time off, or a lifelong golfer, you’ll find a welcoming community with the LPGA Amateurs.

One of the greatest aspects about the game of golf is that the learning never ends. With the LPGA Amateurs, golfers of ALL levels have the opportunity to enjoy the game of golf in a variety of formats: beginner clinics, leagues, play days, charity outings, and local and National events and competitions.

Since our inception, the Philadelphia Area Chapter has hosted a variety of casual get-togethers, social and networking events, clinics, weekly playing opportunities, leagues, etc. Most importantly, our events are intended to appeal to women of all skill levels.

The LPGA Amateur Golf Association is THE Golf Community for Women. Women of all walks of life, all backgrounds and all ages coming together, connecting, expanding their network and making new friends…all with the common affinity of a shared love of golf.

You are invited to join us at our annual Spring Kick-off event, on March 16th at Bluestone Country Club, 711 Boehms Church Rd, Blue Bell, PA. Click here to sign up or for more information contact Karen Melchiorre.

We welcome all levels of players beginner - scratch and all ages. So come check us out - we think you'll like us! Keep checking our calendar of events and league pages to keep up with our activities.

League Info

One of the great benefits of belonging to LPGA Amateur Golf Association Philly is the ability to play in weekly leagues that are spread throughout the Philadelphia area. So why is this considered such a great benefit and why should you join a league?

  1. YOU CAN PLAY MORE GOLF:: It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or scratch player, if you don't belong to a country club you probably don't play the amount of golf that you'd like because you don't know enough women golfers to play routinely and it becomes cumbersome to arrange weekly games.  The EWGA Philly leagues offer the ability to play every week and/or even up to 3 times a week with women who love to play golf.
  2. YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR GAME:  By playing in a league, you constantly improve your game by learning from others and practicing weekly.  You'll start setting weekly goals for yourself.  You'll start thinking more strategically about how to navigate the course.  You'll get more focused on your game.  Some leagues offer weekly competitions/games that will boost your confidence in your ability to play.  Bottom line, the more you play, the better you'll play!
  3. YOU'LL MEET NEW FRIENDS:  It's amazing the amount of camaraderie that is created throughout the season.  Many women who have met through the EWGA Philly leagues begin to play golf with each other outside of the league play.  LPGA AGA Philly members are extremely friendly and want to enhance other women's golf experiences.  You'll likely find someone to support your golf goals and even mentor you if you're just beginning. No need to avoid playing the game you'd love to play just because you think you'll be criticized for the way you play.  That's not our goal!
So if you're looking for a way to play more, better golf in a friendly environment, keep checking our league pages for updated information. To participate in our leagues, you must be a member of LPGA Amateur Golf Association. Guests are welcome to "try us out," by playing twice with one of our leagues before joining.
